business as a job during daytime are a bit different to the ones working in the night mainly in Yangon.
The difference is also at night some entertainment is included to earn some extra money since income is only what they get from the men buying them flower garlands and maybe some encounter with them after the show.
This is not the rule, there is not much different to Mannequins in Milano or Paris who go a bit further to get a lucrative modeling job, everyone has to live somehow.
A pleasant surprise with the ladies in Yangon is, they are not skinny cloth hanger like their "western" counterpart, they usually look great oriental girls with this exotic touch. They in the restaurants, bars, nightclubs, discos etc.
at places in the big cities such as Mandalay and Yangon plus some towns at the border to China and Thailand.
Actually its entertainment, similar as between Thailand and Malaysia with nightlife spots such as Sadao and Hat Yai. There are plenty Karaoke girls who help to sing together, drink together and other horizontal stuff together.
Many people sit the whole evening in front of the TV screen looking at boring content, they don't know that to much TV makes the people stupid it's better to interact with some nice girls in the evening to get relaxed.

what could be better in the evening as entertainment in a bar, restaurant, disco or nightclub and some fun with a local lady who also speak some English.
Local women don't have much choice, office jobs and similar are not well paid means there is not much money to be made. They have to be creative, often they are the only one in the family who earns money. As it is clearly visible they like this nightlife job. Its dancing, singing, moving, entertainment and maybe there is a nice men for a closer encounter and some money.
This is not organized hanky panky stuff as it is in the "western world" here they are independently and no one "controls" them, they come and go as they will. Only a certain discipline must be since they usually work within a group.

They are still in Thailand because the Thai wont let them go because they draw plenty of tourists everyday and became a economic factor Thai's make money with them by exposing them almost as in a zoo.
